Correctly answer one simple question for your chance to win a Moodymann bucket hat from his exclusive collaboration with New Era plus a copy of his latest album “Sinner” on vinyl.

UPDATE 25/09/19: THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED

Avid readers of the Attack news will have noticed we hinted at a small giveaway in last week’s news round up. Well, here it is as we’re giving you the chance to win a vinyl copy of the Detroit legend’s latest album “Sinner”. Not content with giving away a limited copy of his album we’re also throwing in a bucket hat from his recent exclusive collaboration with New Era.

This isn’t the place for a history of Moodymann himself. We’ve covered him before and besides he was once referred to by the Guardian as “refreshingly unknowable“. Moodymann, real name Kenny Dixon Jr., is a cult hero who has always let his music do the talking for him.

After years of back and forth with the New Era design team, this limited edition collection has been finally unveiled today, Sept 17th. The range includes three pieces of headwear; a wool Adventurer hat, a fully reflective, reversible bucket hat and a classic 9FIFTY cap. Also available in the collection is a long-sleeved t-shirt, and premium wool varsity jacket with design details including Moodymann’s signature, iconic KDJ Records logo and the beloved Detroit Tigers Old English ‘D’.

Alongside the collection, New Era has released an extended Moodymann documentary, with significant artist contributions from the likes of Amp Fiddler, providing a rare insight into the elusive musician’s daily life. You can watch a clip below:

Sinner

As part of this amazing give-away , we’re throwing in a free vinyl copy of his latest album “Sinner – KDJ-48” which has all the craft of a Moodymann classic.

This is a great opportunity to get your hands on a free copy of a brilliant and limited record. “Sinner” first appeared on vinyl in Detroit during Movement weekend over the summer, where it was sold at a barbecue and a few record shops around town. The vinyl is a five-track double-LP, however the digital version (above) includes “Got Me Coming Back Right Now” (first released on a 12-inch last year) and a live version of “I Got Werk” from his self-titled album, as well as a new song called “Downtown.” The album is released on his KDJ label.

“Sinner”: KDJ-48

Sinner is a full-length double-pack which despite only featuring around 25mins of new music, should still quench the thirst of new fans eagerly awaiting a new LP. With Moodyman being mysterious and elusive it can be hard to predict how and when this will arrive but should you be invited to a BBQ at Movement be sure to take up the offer. While the weather is still good in the UK, this is your chance to grab a copy and throw a BBQ of your own…
