Music metaverse gaming platform, Pixelynx, and Beatport announce the NFTs will be released on January 27th. There will be 3,030 available.

As the appetite for all things non-fungible continues to grow, Beatport and Pixelynx have announced their own offering. The two companies raised $4.5 million to build the ‘world’s leading music metaverse’ last year. The news today would also suggest it’s the first in a series with more to follow.

Pixelynx is the new metaverse gaming venture from deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin aimed at giving electronic music a particular take on Web3. This series of generative NFTs, called Synth Heads, can be bought via a Beatport landing page later this month.

Within the metaverse is a world seen through the eyes of characters representing each generative NFT. The characters are BØB, Lynn, Pauline, Oscar, Seq-Ee, and Dax 7. They are living synths tired of being used only as presets and ready to explore things on their own terms.

The characters are created using Generative Art which algorithmically generates new ideas, forms, shapes, colours or patterns. This process ensures each NFT is completely unique. With electronic music heavyweights onboard there is a wish to pay homage to synth culture, a cornerstone of electronic music creation and performance, whilst also celebrating music instrument history.

Owning the unique digital collectable Synth Heads will give collectors exclusive access to a range of benefits including, but not limited to, becoming members of the Synth Head community, special passes to festivals, unlocking future utility in the Beatport ecosystem and beyond, as well as future NFT and metaverse experiences.

Beatport has been an early adopter and supporter of the NFT space, as have Pixelynx founders deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin. Together we’ve created a special collection for electronic music fans that captures the unique culture of synthesizers in a creative and fun way.

To buy a Synth Head set up your Ethereum wallet, and top it up with some ETH. The link to the dApp (decentralized application) will go live on Jan 27th via our Beatport social channel. Upon release, consumers can connect their wallets and mint.
