Fresh of his hard-hitting electro release for Atomic Alert, False Persona introduces us to his…um…persona.

Who are you?

My name’s Sean and I’m a 21-year-old producer & DJ based on the South Coast of England.

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Birmingham but have been living in a seaside town called Bournemouth since about the age of 9.

What do you sound like?

Vocally just like your average 21-year-old lad. My music however is a bit like if Megatron decided to download a copy of Logic Pro and move to Berlin to write Autobot diss tracks.

Why should we follow what you’re doing?

If overdriven drums, arpeggiated basslines and nonsensical vocal chops are your thing, then by all means stick around.

Which of your tracks sums you up? Why?

I’d say By My Side which just came out on Nite Fleit’s new label Atomic Alert. It’s a side to my productions that I’ve never really shown under this alias before, but I think it sits quite snugly between the soft and hard aspects of my music.

What or who is your biggest influence and why?

In general, I’d say my mum. She’s always taught me to keep going no matter what anyone thinks and is genuinely the most selfless, supportive person I’ve ever met. Also, almost everything I do in life is always run past her first – which has definitely saved me from making some silly decisions.

What have you released so far? What else have you got coming out in the near future?

A lot of my music so far has mainly been self-released, but I’ve been lucky enough to have released on compilations for labels like International Chrome, Typeless, and Dionysian Mysteries. Along with my first full EP on Atomic Alert which just recently came out.

In terms of future releases, Fleitsy and I made a collab record (my first vinyl!) for Tripalium’s Acid Avengers series which will be dropping in November. That and a whole lotta remixes & collaborations with friends.

How did you get into DJing/ producing to begin with?

Got DJ Hero for Christmas when I was 10 and have been hooked ever since.

What are three things on your studio shopping list?

Acoustic treatment, a backup hard drive and a new chair.

Who or what have you sacrificed for your art?

A whole lotta sleep. And my GCSE’s.

What’s been your favourite place to play so far?

B2B with SAAH at FOLD. Although it was a stream in front of Aloka, ohmydais, a camera and a really bright light, it was just really good vibes and good tunes. Hoping we can do it again soon in front of a crowd.

Where can we hear your music?

Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp etc. Or say my name three times in the mirror and I’ll come and serenade you.

What one song would feature on the soundtrack to your life?

Definitely Flim by Aphex Twin.

What motivates you?

Listening to new music!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

I have a secret lazy eye that I can control. It’s a great party trick but I get scared it’ll get stuck one day.

Complete this sentence: At heart I’m just a …

Bunch of arteries and veins.

What’s the best bit of advice you’ve received?

In the words of Aaliyah: If at first you don’t succeed (🎶 first you don’t succeeeed 🎶), dust yourself off and try again.

Where will you be in five years’ time?

Probably at the opticians wishing I stopped doing the lazy eye party trick.
