Get your John Williams on with Spitfire Audio’s Appassionata Strings hailed as ‘the next generation of string legato instruments’.

Recorded at Air Studios, Appasionata Strings aims to solve the various issues faced when composing legato strings. Without a real orchestra, this is as close to the real thing you’re going to get.

Having been recorded at Air Studios, Spitfire follows in the footsteps of The Crown, James Bond, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Gladiator, and many more.

Spitfire Appassionata Strings has been designed to create long and flowing melody lines. The product sits seamlessly alongside Spitifre’s other AIR libraries such as Spitfire Symphonic and Chamber Strings. Ultimately, these legato strings require minimal tweaking.

The main ‘combi’ patch features a combination of slurred, bowed and intense Sul I intervals (Sul I only available in V1, V2 and Celli) with repetition-based alt-attacks. These techniques offer five dynamic layers delivering incredibly smooth and expressive performances, four round-robin attacks, vibrato, and velocity-controlled switching between legato types.

All of this has been made possible by using their new ‘Impulse Legato‘ recording technique.

This new library of string legatos is made up of an “8,6,6,6,4” sized band, where life-like re-bowing and an exclusive performance style is displayed.
