The best chillout record?

Moon Safari – Air. Awesome album which came out around the time when I first started listening to Daft Punk. It reminds me of college and school. It was one of the first electronic albums that I fully listened to from start to finish without skipping a single track. Every track is a great moment and it’s still brilliant now.

The best record for a family party?

‘Good Times’ by Chic. When that bassline comes in it just gets everyone dancing. It’s Chic, man! If you like hip-hop, disco, house, techno, whatever, wherever, everyone gets up and dances. It’s party disco!

The worst record you’ve ever heard?

Anything by Black Eyed Peas! ‘Lets Get It Started’, or anything by Ke$ha, like ‘Tik Tok’. No good vibes about those tracks, it’s everything that’s wrong with pop in this day – cheaply made, metallic, digital-sounding synths used in every track!

The record you’re proudest of?

My New EP, It’s The Drums, on Hot Creations. Really happy with the way both the A and B sides sound. They’re both very different but both sounds I like and both analogue – no digital synths or drum machines. Also it’s the first time I’ve written lyrics!

The It’s The Drums EP is out on Hot Creations next month. Richy plays Panorama Bar on November 17th. Find Richy on Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud.
