The guilty pleasure?

I heard ‘Slow’ by Kylie again the other day. What a fantastic pop record. There’s nothing guilty about that pleasure, though.

The last track of the night?

Zero 7 – ‘Everything Up (Mock N Toof remix)’. I’ve been finishing with this again recently and am always surprised that no one seems to know it. I guess most people got scared off by the Zero 7 name but, to me, this is a perfect remix. The breakdown is the definition of a hands-in-the-air moment.

The best chillout record?

I’m very much into an album by ARP called The Soft Wave which came out a year or two ago. I believe it’s one of the guys from Tussle. It works like a dubby version of Neu! and I love it.

The worst record you’ve ever heard?

For ages it’s been ‘Beautiful’ by James Blunt, the soundtrack to a rainy Saturday afternoon trudging around Westfield. What’s the message of that song? That you saw a girl you fancied on the train and then you went home again? Oh, how difficult for you! Gross. Saying that, however, have you heard that latest Will.I.Am song that got to number one?!
