In our occasional video series, artists present a series of clips to introduce us to their interests outside music. This time it’s the turn of Italian producer Giorgia Angiuli.

Holographic Circus

Since I was a child, I could never really enjoy an animal circus because I love animals and nature. I remember the very first time I went to see a show with my school, I couldn’t enjoy what I was seeing. I felt really sad for the poor animals who were abused and punished on a daily basis. I think this idea to recreate a holographic circus is a genius idea, I hope to see it live! Holograms are able to take adults and children into a surreal dimension. I dream of using these special projections in one of my shows, maybe one day.

Tibetan Healing Sounds

I’m very interested in and I respect deeply the oriental world and philosophy. When I was a child, my very first trip outside of Europe was to Thailand, which was a fantastic experience. I saw people on the street playing Tibetan bowls and I fell in love with the sounds, so I bought their CD. These sounds help me to enter a meditative state and I discovered this again when my life started to become so hectic. I am not able to meditate every day, even if I really would love to do it because I strongly believe in it.

Yoga with Adriene

This girl changed my life. She’s a virtual yoga teacher, so positive and with a great sense of humour. She is virtual to me because I’ve never really met her, but I follow her lessons when I am on tour. I used to be against these kinds of tutorials because I always thought nothing can substitute the physical presence. But I have to say Adriene works for me.

My Neighbour Totoro

I love the Japanese film director Miyazaki, and this is one of my favourite cartoons. This cartoon arrived on screens in 1988 and was produced by Studio Ghibli. The main character Totoro is simply designed but extremely funny. Japan has inspired me over the years as there is a very particular sense of aesthetics. It’s like entering a completely different world. I play music using toys coming from this incredible country, like my frog which is the protagonist of my shows.

Creating with food

I love food even if I can’t cook! To be a chef in a restaurant is a very creative and artistic job that I deeply respect. This video is a perfect example of what you can do in a kitchen when food becomes colour and taste at the same time! I like to be inspired by these kinds of videos.
