In our occasional video series, artists present a series of clips to introduce us to their interests outside music. This time it’s the turn of long time Attack favourite Deetron.
From an early age, I was fascinated with the sport. I started playing around the age of 9 and still play a lot with my eldest son. I think he has a great talent.
My favourite players when I was young were Edberg, Yvanisevic, McEnroe and obviously Sampras. We would watch all the grand slams with the family. Then came Roger Federer and re-invented the game. I can’t get enough of watching his matches as he makes everything look so incredibly effortless.
Some of my favourite designers include icons like Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Ettore Sottsass, Florence Knoll, George Nelson. More current designers I admire include Stephen Burks, Patricia Urquiola, Axel Kufus, Alfredo Häberli…the list could go on forever.
I am absolutely obsessed with the cuisine, produce and nature in the North of Spain from Galicia over to Asturias and onwards to Pais Vasco.
I particularly admire the simplicity of the cooking, which is always paired with the philosophy of treating the produce with the utmost respect. The video above is from my favourite restaurant in the world.
I‘ve only been to Brazil once but I visited a number of buildings by Oscar Niemeyer such as the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo in Niteroi and the Edificio Copan and the Auditorio Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo.
I love concrete and the way he uses it is absolutely mind-blowing. I really want to make it to Brasilia one day.
More food but you got to love Rick! My favourite episode is Cali to Mexico.
I’ve spent a good amount of my life 30000 feet above the ground and I am still fascinated by flying and aircraft. I have had the pleasure of flying in the cockpit on a couple of occasions as one of my best friends is a pilot.
The video is my favourite plane at the moment: the A350.
It‘s a completely different way of travel in many aspects and (hopefully) an environmentally friendly one.
