Insolate has just dropped a new EP on Luke Slaters’ label. We put her through Attack’s Q&A.

Hailing from Osijek, Croatia, Insolate has a who’s who in her label release catalogue. With releases on Ellen Alien’s BPitch Rec, Ben Sims’s Symbolism and DJ Deep’s Deeply Deeply Rooted it’s the turn of Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver to step up with the next release, ‘Push’.

She was recently recognised, as ‘Croatia’s Ambassador Oversea’ cementing her place as a flag bearer for electronic music from the Balkan country.

I love to cook, so if I am not making music, I would make delicious dishes

Don’t take rejection in business too seriously; it is not personal. Try harder!

I just released 12” on Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver named ‘Push’.

Best club experience?

I always love to play in Berghain but I need to mention that Macadam in Nantes and Radion in Amsterdam were the highlights of the year so far.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?


How do you know when a track’s finished?

It is never finished.

What was your last day job and when did you realise you could give it up?

It was a long time ago when I was still in high school, and I quit as soon as I started making money from music.

Which song do you wish you wrote?

Limit to Your Love by James Blake.

What’s the easiest way to make it in the music industry?

What’s the worst track you’ve ever released?

Some tracks back in the days when I went by my previous alias, Miss Sunshine.
