  • Im really happy with this studio feature. it goes over ALL of the gear, piece by piece with an explanation of how he uses it. instead of general pictures like the premiesku article which doesn’t even go in depth with their custom modules even though i can tell there is a MFB 522 and a EMX in them also no picture of their synth stack to the right of the main picture.

I hope all future articles are covered in the way that this one is! Every piece has a photo and an explanation so we can get insight to how they use it and not have to figure out what synth or drum machine or effect unit it is.

    THANK YOU

  • This was a really great studio tour. I did not have one question left due to the detailed explanations of gear and links to tracks showcasing gear use. If this is an example of future studio tours in AttackMagazine you just became my favorite daily read. I read Synthopia, Create Digital Music, SonicScoop etc …. but you guys just made number one on my list if this keeps up. Thank You. I even loved the shot of all the cables on the floor, it lets me know that my own mess of cables is just part of the process. Thanks AttackMagazine and keep it up.

  • Refreshing. If only more people felt like this: “I’m unlikely to ever get my hands on a Fairchild compressor, so you won’t catch me snobbing on about the differences from the real gear.”

  • Nice post, cool to see he’s doing this in a small, dare I say “crappy” studio space. WIth nice gear. And very tunes. Didn’t know this guy, now I’m a fan!

  • Agreed this is a great one, really like the track links w/ the associated gear.

  • Very unpretentious. That mess on the floor was the perfect ending. Keep it up Attack Magazine, another great article/artist. I love seeing gear that I have or could have being used…..I dunno, sometimes reminds me that I have everything I need, including the nightmarish octopus of wires everywhere.

  • I loved how Ambivalent focused on each part of the setup but always looking at the creative perspective of the units with real examples and references. The passion for this tools is always related to the possibilities they actually offer and results they actually bring about, it’s not a sterile gear fetish.

  • 100% agree with Manel. This is how the My Studio features should be. Some of them are hardly worth the bandwidth they are given. I also liked that he linked tracks and specific gear. This was very insightful.

A quote many should take to heart: “Making something now is far preferable to waiting to make something perfect”

  • I’m having trouble finding any information on these ADAM P9 monitors. Does anyone have a link to their specs?

    Report
  • James, we think that might be a typo. They look like P11As to us. We’ll check with Kevin.

    Report
  • Kevin has confirmed that they’re the (now discontinued) P11As.

  • That was my mistake. The monitors are the P11As. My faulty memory is to blame. Thanks for paying close attention!

  • hopefully more people realize you didn’t acquire real electrical devices just because they look good to the guy fixing your plumbing…..

Ive still got my dangerous audio dbox , but its plugged into a pioneer djm900 so my routing capabilities are pretty lame at the moment.. id say your quite happy with that gear , i would be…
