Gearing up for his forthcoming release on his own label, Plūma Records, we asked Toada to introduce himself.

Who are you?

I’m that introvert guy who extroverts through music. Toada started out in 2015 in my hometown Lisbon, shortly after I moved to Berlin and since then I’ve been living the dream.

What do you sound like?

I sound like I’m telling a story through melodies and rhythm.

Why should we listen to you?

Imagine you got the main role in a movie and there is this cathartic scene and that you need music to keep up with…

What have you released so far? What else have you got coming out in the near future?

In 2016 I released my first EP “Escapista” on Con+ainer Music. My second EP “Peso Pluma” came in April 2018 and in July 2018 I’ve released a single called “First Blossom”, both came out through my own label Plūma.

Starting fresh in 2019, I have coming out my third EP “Airosa Melanina”  on January 11th with a short run of vinyl coming right after.

I’m also preparing a live setup and I’m looking forward to play it out there!

What song sums you up? Why?

My music is completely honest so I have to reference myself in order to properly answer this question. I think “Airosa” and “Melanina”, both from my new EP are the best representation of myself.

What or who is your biggest influence and why?

“Being in between” is my biggest influence… all my life I’ve been in between definitions… between categories… between spaces… between scenes and that’s where my music gets space to grow.

Where can we hear your music?

You can find me on all main digital music services including Spotify:

And pretty soon on vinyl too..!

Where will you be in five years’ time?

It might sound corny but it’s a good sign if I’m living in a less f****d up world…

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

I’m pretty good with air drumming and air guitar #hairband80sstyle

Toada’s Airosa Melanina EP is out on 11th January on Pluma Records. Find him on SoundCloud, InstagramFacebook.
