“Club-focused, yet melodic…” Tim Engelhardt introduces himself.

Who are you?

Tim Engelhardt.

What do you sound like?

Tim Engelhardt.

Why should we listen to you?

For the love of music.

What have you released so far? What else have you got coming out in the near future?

I have so far released two EPs on Poker Flat, as well as a lot of other music. For me, the Poker Flat releases were a key part of my search for my own sound, so that’s why it all started there for me. This year, I’m looking forward to see my music being released on respected labels like Cityfox or Green.

My biggest thing this year is my album that will drop on Poker Flat, most likely at the end of the year. It’s a very emotional journey.

What song sums you up? Why?

Tough question. I doubt a song can sum up a person. But if the question was which track represents me and my own language in music the most, it would probably be ‘Best Night In Cologne’ or ‘Enigmatism’, which show my club-focused, yet melodic side.

What or who is your biggest influence and why?

I guess it’s easy to say that, but my biggest influence is my life, basically. Whenever I see, hear or taste something that touches me and inspires me to be creative on my own, I start thinking of a track inside my head and then realise it in the studio.

I don’t think there’s a person that currently influences me a lot, but there are a lot of people I look up to and that inspire me to keep on what I’m doing, such as Steve Bug, Robert Babicz, Joris Voorn or Matthew Dekay – and I’m even happier to see they also support me and my vision.

Where can we hear your music?

That’s up to you.

Where will you be in five years’ time?

Hopefully traveling the world while being able to share my music with you people.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

I’m still going to school while doing all this music stuff! I’m currently taking my A-levels, with a focus on languages – German and English, to be precise. Afterwards, I might go to university to focus more on this topic, but maybe I will follow the music path first…
