3D Dolby Audio Coming to Clubs. Dolby is introducing its object-based 3D-audio platform, Atmos, which has previously been used in the mix of Hollywood blockbusters like Gravity, into the club market. Atmos will be installed as an array of speakers around a club’s main system, with DJs and producers able to make use of the platform via a panner plugin and an app for live mixing. Vince Clarke releases new Eurorack module. “I wanted a practical writing tool that would generate musical patterns based on user controlled variables.” Musician Vince Clarke has announced the second in his series of Eurorack modules, the Imaginator, which uses a high-level algorithm to produce inspiring musical material that can be manipulated in many ways, like transpose, velocity, rhythm and more. Help DIY Synth Legend Ray Wilson Beat Cancer. Ray Wilson‘s children have started a GoFundMe to raise money for the DIY synth legend’s fight against cancer. A prolific musician and inventor, Wilson is behind a number of popular synth projects, including the massive DIY archive for electronic musicians known as Music From Outer Space, amongst many others. Find out more here, and donate here.
