How do digitally controlled oscillators work? In a new video, YouTuber GOLT takes a look at how DCOs work. Commonly mistaken for digital oscillators, DCOs are actually analogue oscillators under digital control. GOLT speculates about how they might be implemented in the upcoming Behringer DeepMind 12 polysynth. Watch the video above.

A new collection of Patrick Cowley’s music sheds light on San Francisco’s disco scene. Candida Cosmica, made partly with the synths at the City College of San Francisco’s Electronic Music Laboratory, was discovered while sifting through old reels in Cowley’s friend Maurice Tani’s attic.
