Aphex Twin at the 2016 Summer NAMM Show. Aphex Twin had a booth at Summer NAMM to introduce his new Cheetah EP and display the rare British synth – a Cheetah MS800 – which was used to write the record, and the Cheetah Sweet Talker, a speech synthesiser for the Synclair ZX Spectrum computer. Acoustic Drummers & Electronic Music. Reflecting on their 2015 Loop summit, where innovative drummers discussed their perspective on the evolving relationship between human drummers and electronic music, Ableton present a discussion of rhythm. Their feature covers playing with backing tracks or loops, playing “ahead of” or “behind” the beat versus strict quantisation, and how drummers generally think about the flow of musical time. The DEA’s Guide to “Rave Parties”. A Drug Enforcement Agency report on “Rave and Club Culture/Designer Drugs” has surfaced during investigation into the ambiguous relationship between the agency and “grandfather of ecstasy” Alexander Shulgin. The report is based on a presentation by a retired detective who had been “going to raves since 1992”. Find out more here.

Boiler Room to Police Comment Section Insults. Boiler Room have announced that they will be acting to police “transphobic, misogynistic, racist” comments in the comment sections of their live streams, explaining that they feel a responsibility to stand up for their “liberal values” after Nightwave called out those insulting her online as she DJed at a Boiler Room event in Paris.
