Berlin-based producer Erwin announces the launch of his boutique and food-inspired imprint Arepas Records, kicking off with a five-track vinyl and digital release blending deep, minimal, and ambient house.

Erwin has announced the release of his debut EP under his new alias and the launch of his own label, Arepas Records. Titled Arepas EP, the five-track release will be available on vinyl and digital platforms on September 26, 2025, with presales also available.

Erwin

Erwin, formerly known as Florian Rietze, brings over a decade of experience to this new project. The EP serves as both a musical statement and the inaugural release for Arepas Records – a boutique label centred on deep house, minimal house, and ambient-influenced grooves.

The Arepas EP features a range of moods and textures, moving from club-ready rhythms to introspective atmospheres. Tracks such as the opener “Arepas” and “Well Deserved” lean toward dynamic dancefloor energy, while “Blueberry Cream” and the closing piano piece “Aguardiente” showcase subtlety and emotion.

Food For Thought Behind The Music

What sets the new label apart is that each release on Arepas Records is designed with a culinary concept in mind. The label’s artwork and track titles are food-themed, and upcoming EPs will form a collectable series where sleeves connect to create a larger visual composition. The conceptual approach draws from Erwin’s background as a vinyl collector and his interest in cohesive, album-length storytelling narratives. Each release is designed to be part of a larger set, where individual sleeves combine to form a single artwork – reinforcing the tactile and thematic continuity of the series.

The EP’s track order is curated to mirror the progression of a tasting menu, moving from energetic, rhythm-driven tracks toward more introspective pieces, reinforcing the label’s food-inspired concept through musical structure. In doing so, Rietze, under his new moniker Erwin, returns to analogue production techniques and a focus on stripped-back arrangements.

The label is currently accepting demo submissions.
