6 years after releasing the TMA-2, Danish audio company AIAIAI has announced the TMA-2 Studio and TMA-2 XE.
It’s hard to believe 6 years have passed since we reviewed the TMA-2 in 2015. A popular product amongst DJs, as well as the Attack team, they were an easy addition to our headphone roundup from the same year.
The latest announcement from the Danish firm is the TMA-2 Studio and TMA-2 Studio XE models, both modular studio headphones. AIAIAI has long had a reputation with DJs and labels, in particular Ninja Tune, however, these latest headphones appear to be geared more towards producers and beatmakers.
Modular Makeup
As was the case with the TMA-2 both the Studio and the Studio XE are fully customisable. The signature bio-diaphragm driver is designed to offer precise, reliable audio with enhanced isolation. The bio-cellulose speaker diaphragm is made of bacterial cellulose, an organic compound grown using certain types of bacteria. Renewable and biodegradable, with powerful acoustic properties, the diaphragm is made up of a structure of fine fibres. These fibres construct a very solid but lightweight material making it ideal for a speaker diaphragm.
