What’s the first record you ever bought?

The first actual 12″ I ever bought was Chocolate Puma – ‘I Wanna Be You’. Not exactly the best record in the world but I was very young, had no idea what music was around and had never been record shopping. On top of that I only had enough money to buy something from the sale section.

The first time you remember hearing electronic music?

On the radio, Pete Tong’s Essential Selections every week. It was a great way to listen to electronic music. When I was 12 I couldn’t get into clubs so there wasn’t really any other way.

Your favourite ever record?

You know there’s no answer to this question. It’s an impossible one to answer. I can’t just pick one, so here’s a few records that I really love:

Sha-Lor – ‘I’m In Love’
Ricardo Villalobos – ‘808 The Bass Queen’
Maurice Fulton remix of Alice Smith’s ‘Love Endeavour’
Eddy Grant – ‘Time Warp’
Joyce Sims – ‘Come Into My Life’
Aleem – ‘Release Yourself’
