We caught up with Chloe Battelle and asked her to talk us through her Top Tracks. If you’re crate digging, look no further.
Brooklyn-based producer and DJ, Chloe Battelle, shapes a sound that merges the raw purity of techno with a cinematic sense of melody and storytelling. Drawing from 90s acid, breakbeat, prog house, and early rave, her productions fuse rhythmic intensity with hypnotic detail, as showcased in her debut EP ‘Porcelain’ on EELF Records.
We asked her to share some of the tracks that have shaped her musical journey and make her way into her sets.

What’s the first record you ever bought?
My brother and I found STRFKR together in the early 2010s, and this record underlined my entire adolescent life – first kiss, first sneaking out, etc, etc – a beautifully trippy experience to have at that age and still my comfort record to this day.
The first time you remember hearing electronic music?
My dad was at the forefront of early electronic and car rides, with him were characterised by early Play by Moby, Massive Attack, Portishead, JMJ, and more. The electronic side of trip hop definitely inspired my music-making today.
Your favourite ever record?
I never fail to play this record out because this track is everything to me. The structure/arch perfectly aligns to a million different experiences / emotional states of mine – like a movie soundtrack for my life again and again. It’s such a beautiful and splendid track, perfect for any set and any occasion/venue. Epic.
Proggy house really gets the crowds going right now and this is an absolute belter.
The guaranteed floor-filler?
Proggy house really gets the crowds going right now, and this is an absolute belter. It just feels good and breaks the ice. The song has four different vibes and is super versatile.
The best tune from last year?
This song is so clean. The first time I heard it, the creativity in its production blew me away. It was inspiring for the music I am trying to make right now.
The guilty pleasure?
I don’t know how to explain this, just listen to it lmao.
The last track of the night?
Tried and true. A euphoric moment for everyone. Just pure connection, ecstasy, ethereal energy.
The best chillout record?
The chillout record of high school. Still today. Shoutout to Mac Miller as well for sampling.
The record everyone loves, but you hate?
I just can’t get behind it. It bothers me when it comes on because the people that stand around for the majority of the night finally feel inclined to dance to this one… why?
The best record for a family party?
Big Gorillaz Family over here. The second record I bought was Plastic Beach. I have a Noodle tattoo on my arm. This song is a family anthem.
The soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon?
A classic, this song gets me through the worst of times. But it’s amazing for gliding through crowds in SoHo or riding a bike across the Williamsburg Bridge on a Sunday – defeats all scaries. I play this in the slower radio sets I spin or when I am cooking. I love it. The synths, the percussion, the soul.
The worst record you’ve ever heard?
The TikTokification of dance music.
The record you’re proudest of?
An emotional breakthrough of mine. More to come, though.
The future classic?
I can’t say enough good things about this track or its producers. So clean, so drilled in. Can listen a million times. A perfect look at the future classics of underground dance – smooth, groove, acid, yeeahh.
