The last track of the night?

I’ve never played it myself, but someone told me Levon Vincent played Eddie Grant – ‘Electric Avenue’ at the end of a set. I couldn’t think of anything more fun and cheeky!

The best chillout record?

Jon Hassell – ‘Amsterdam Blue’. I havn’t actually seen the film it was recorded for, but for quite a while this has been the first track I think of when I need to relax. Time really slips away when you listen.

The best record for a family party?

Paul Simon – Graceland. It’s a warm, comforting record, both beautiful and energetic, and reminds me of being a kid.

The soundtrack to a lazy Sunday afternoon?

Miles Davis – Kind of Blue. This was my introduction to jazz music, and I’ve always loved the mood and tone of the record.

Ashworth’s debut album Grain is out on July 6th on Needwant records. Find him on Facebook, SoundCloud, and his website.
