“Where can you hear my music? At the shoe section of your local department store.” Parisian DJ, producer and Seinfeld addict Flabaire introduces himself.

Who are you?

I’m Ralph, aka Flabaire, a 23-year-old producer from Paris. I founded a record label called D.KO Records with some friends of mine and I’m a Seinfeld addict.

What do you sound like?

I try to produce house music that has an emotional charge and some depth. Emotional groove?

Why should we listen to you?

You shouldn’t!

What have you released so far? What else have you got coming out in the near future?

I have released two EPs on D.KO, one on Organic Music, an album on D.KO last March and a few tracks on various labels. I have a record out on Popcorn Records too ☺

What song sums you up? Why?

That’s a tough one. I don’t think there’s one song that sums me up, it depends on my current mood. Right now I’m sick as a dog, about to leave for Lyon where I’m playing tonight, so I’d say Bob Dylan – ‘A Hard’s Rain Gonna Fall.’

What or who is your biggest influence and why?

I’d say the Beatles. I learned to play the piano and guitar on their songs, they’ve been part of my musical education since day one.

Where can we hear your music?

At the shoe section of your local department store.

Where will you be in five years’ time?

Making music that I hope will still be interesting!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

I’m a bit of a hypochondriac… Makes you rethink what I said earlier?

Flabaire’s Laura Palmer EP is out now on Popcorn Records. Find him on Facebook and SoundCloud.
