Moving onto the gear! Maschine Studio is pretty much standard in every studio, which is the same for myself and Mark. Great for drum performances of any kind. I’m sure everyone writes the same thing here!

Novation Bass Station 2

A lovely natural analogue monosynth, creating big, angry and phat-sounding basslines. We used this piece many times on tracks such as my forthcoming Silver Lines EP coming out on Joris Voorn’s Rejected imprint and recent remixes including Claptone – ‘Puppet Theatre’ and Loco Dice – ‘Get Comfy’ featuring Giggs.

U-he RePro-1

Very good sounding monosynth plugin, mainly used for lead and bass sounds. It has a very analogue feel to it, we absolutely love that!

Manley Vari-Mu

The Manley variable-mu limiter-compressor is a classic standard in outboard equipment. It simply makes things sound warm and phat!

That Gun

I always forget that it’s not a lighter, its a freaky electro shocker… we’ve had some funny moments with that.

Ashly SC-50 Compressors

The Ashly compressors are great for drum compression. These have been customised for us, which enables them to be used in mono or stereo.

Event Opal Monitors

Very exact, direct and analytic speakers. Behind them are Tannoys which we use for comparison.

Millennium SST-1

We are using the SST-1 Origin Recording System for vocal recordings and also for fattening up synth sounds

Another favourite piece of outboard is the Princeton Digital Ursa Major Space station SST-282. This signal processor gives an old-school feeling due to its unique performance.

Doggy

This is Wotan (or Buchse). He brings good luck and sometimes trouble as you can see… he’s quite a character!
