Space Ibiza closes its doors after 27 years. After deciding not to renew their license, the club has closed, with Carl Cox providing the last set of a distinguished era. Space owner Pepe Rosello has recently turned 80 and decided to call it a day. The team behind Ushuaïa will take control of the venue from 2017. Check out the BBC’s video here.

Inside Prince’s Paisley Park In Chanhassen, Minnesota. Handwritten notes and recording equipment remain just where they were before the iconic musician’s death. The estate’s archivist says Prince saved much of his memorabilia, including some of his 6,000 custom-made pieces of clothing. Two of Prince’s sisters, Sharon and Norrine Nelson, tell Al Roker that they can feel “the spirit of Prince” inside. To watch the incredible video tour click here.

“The Invisible Man”, Rod Templeton. The writer of the huge Michael Jackson hit ‘Thriller’ has died of cancer at the age of 66. Tributes have poured in from around the world for the songwriter, who also worked with Quincy Jones, Anita Baker and Aretha Franklin. One of the most important songwriters in contemporary pop, his influence was felt far and wide including amongst the dance music community. To read his obituary, click here.

Machines In Music. A free two-day festival this weekend bridges artists, musicians and instrument builders with a focus on modular synths. It takes place at the Knockdown Centre in Queens, New York as well as the DIY community space Trans-Pecos.
