Celebrating Ron Hardy’s birthday with an unreleased mix. Resident Advisor offer a previously unheard mix by the legendary Chicago house pioneer, recorded in 1987. Featuring an eclectic mixture of disco, soul and early house, including Hardy’s own edits, this is essential listening for anyone interested in the early history of house. The light of Detroit’s torch. Mike Huckaby, the electronic music educator, taste-maker DJ, producer and boss of labels Deep Transportation and S Y N T H demonstrates the essential Detroit sound in this hour long all-vinyl mix, which is packed with exquisite jacking house and techno, for the may edition of Dubspot‘s podcast series. Russo is known for his collaborations and back to back sets with Craig Richards and will be playing Room 2 on 31st May alongside Richards and an array of his label darlings including Radioactive Man and Trevino. Dance music’s Brooklyn-based renaissance man Jacques Renault plays a slick set of sophisticated thumping house, disco and up-tempo dance floor sounds live, in the third instalment of Danish audio design company AIAIAI‘s series of mixes.
