Arthur Russell: Vanished Into Music. For the BBC, writer Olivia Laing presents an imaginative portrait of avant-garde disco artist and cellist Arthur Russell, who was active in the New York downtown scene of the 1970s and a frequent collaborator with the likes of Steve Reich, Allen Ginsberg and Philip Glass. Russell died from AIDS in 1992, still in relative obscurity and nearly broke. Listen here.
