Junction 2 is putting on a virtual festival this weekend.

Junction 2 has joined with brand partners to create an interactive festival experience, running Saturday 11th July to Sunday 12th July 2020.

The festival kicks off tomorrow with a huge line up across four virtual stages, featuring the likes of ANNA, Nina Kraviz, Daniel Avery, Jossy Mitsu, Saoirse B2B Shanti Celeste, among many others. The main stage is curated by long time LWE collaborator, Carl Craig, and will focus on DJ talent from Detroit

The digital festival is designed to be as immersive as possible. Each stage has been created with distinct visuals, vibe and aesthetic. Like a real life festival, you are able to walk around freely and explore. Music gets louder as you approach each stage, or you can navigate the festival in ‘stream mode’, enjoying the music whilst looking around.

You can visit digital art exhibitions or browse cocktails at the J2v bar. There are even Asphalt Lykan vehicles (part of Junction 2’s collaboration with video game publisher Gameloft) and hidden virtual cans of Relentless Energy Drink that enable you to get across the festival site quicker.

After a day of music, Sunday is packed with a line-up of inspiring panel discussions and film viewings. Hosted in association with Vice, Junction 2 has curated the day as “a reflect and refresh point” in light of the current Black Lives Matter movement, with an emphasis on Black culture and diverse voices. This includes a broadcast of the 1988 documentary, ‘Detroit: The Blueprint of Techno’, a discussion about the growing electronic community in Palestine, and four key players of London’s electronic scene discussing the future of diversity in electronic music.

The Speakers Day is another opportunity to raise money for important social causes. 100% of profits from J2v will be donated to Black Lives Matter UK, The Outside Project, Trussell Trust Foodbanks, The Care Workers Charity and Refuge.

The virtual world will be accessible from the website at 18.00 BST / 19.00 CEST tomorrow. The world works best on Google Chrome and Safari on desktop and is fully compatible on Mac and PC. It is also accessible via mobile devices, although some desktop features will be unavailable.
