The guilty pleasure?

TLC – ‘Red Light Special’. I love TLC!

The best chillout record?

Nightmares On Wax – ‘Les Nuits’. This track just knows how to chill me right out. It also brings back some great memories of Cape Town in the summer time.

The best record for a family party?

Mafikizolo – ‘Ndihamba Nawe’. This will definitely get the aunts and uncles and not forgetting my grandma dancing.

The record you’re proudest of?

Esa – ‘Serenity 021’. I had so much fun making this track as it just all came together with what I was experiencing at that moment in time, seeing my family after four years, feeling serene in Cape Town. And it also got love from friends, family and fellow DJs and poducers. Thanks to Burek family for putting it out.

The future classic?

Esa & Mervin Granger – ‘Anwar 491’. This track is a tribute to my uncle Anwar in Germany, the coolest guy and one who gave me the courage to follow my passion and experience life to the fullest. I hope it becomes a future classic as it’s really special to me. [It’s the second track in the Rhythm Connection mix below – Attack.]
