Who are you?

Hi, my name is Rafael Cerato. I’m a French producer of techno music based in London.

What do you sound like?

I’ve been a passionate electronic musician for a long time now, so I sound like a musician who finds new inspiration in different kinds of music and emotions. You can hear a lot of different emotions in my music, because feelings are the most important things to me.

Why should we listen to you?

Because you can find some different emotions there. It’s a trip through the jungle too…

What have you released so far? What else have you got coming out in the near future?

Actually I’ve released some tracks on labels like Diynamic Music, Sleazy Deep, Save Us Records, Nurvous Records, Kittball and Neim. My first musical direction was more deep house, but my style is emotional techno music now. In the near future, I will be releasing some tracks on Marc Romboy‘s Systematic Recordings. It’s an important step for me because I can’t find a better home-label. All the Systematic family have influenced me a lot for a long time.

What song sums you up? Why?

Only one? Hard! Actually I’m in love with the Marc Romboy EP, Simi/Bylgja, out on Systematic Recordings. Besides that, I love the next Stephan Bodzin album too.

What or who is your biggest influence and why?

My biggest influence is the techno music of my youth, because my first discoveries about this music was in this period: Border Community, Traum, Trapez, Systematic Recordings and Herzblut. And for sure, the artists on these labels…

Where can we hear your music?

You can hear my music on Beatport, SoundCloud, Facebook, and all social networks…

Where will you be in five years’ time?

Maybe on an island alone… But actually I will be based in London!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

I’ve got some nice gigs coming this summer and some important releases, and I’m always hard at work in the studio!

Rafael Cerato’s first release for Systematic Recodings, the Bucolik EP, is out now.
