Four Tet talks about his process, NI updates Traktor Kontrol S2 and S4, Moog discontinues the Little Phatty. Plus, check out Flo Rida’s truly jaw-dropping new DJ controller.

NI announces updated Traktor Kontrol S4 and S2. As we’ve been expecting for quite some time, the new versions of Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ controllers feature full Traktor DJ support for iPad and iPhone. Other than that, it’s mainly a series of small updates rather than a radical overhaul: RGB-backlit buttons and high-resolution jog wheels are the key upgrades. The S4 will be priced at $799/€799, the S2 at $499/€499.

Moderat postpone tour. A post on the trio’s website announced that Sascha Ring had badly broken his leg in a motorcycle accident. The group’s tour will be postponed until January 2014. Ring and his girlfriend, who was riding with him on the motorcycle, are both “doing fine”.

Four Tet looks backward to move forward. Kieran Hebden talks to the Creators Project.

Moog discontinues Little Phatty. The daddies of analogue synths announced that they’ll cease production of their mid-range model once component supplies run out. No word on a replacement, which suggests the Sub Phatty may be intended to take its place.

Beamz by Flo. The incredible Beamz by Flo Rida is undoubtedly the future of DJing, live performance and, well, just about everything else really. Check out the astonishing video below.
