Independent labels’ Fair Digital Deals Declaration. The Worldwide Independent Network has facilitated a new agreement signed by over 700 labels to ensure better treatment and artist compensation. The group effort comes in the wake of controversy over YouTube’s pressuring of independent labels to sign what some have seen as unfair deals surrounding their new streaming service. Police Raid Europe’s Biggest Counterfeit Pressing Plant. German police have discovered one of the largest illegal pressing plants in Europe for CDs, DVDs and vinyl records. Following a two-year investigation, several properties were raided, with officials seizing a significant number of CDs, DVDs and vinyl records. The evaluation of the material is still ongoing.
