Our favourites this week include Scuba’s Essential Mix, a live Legowelt performance, Andrew Weatherall and Krysko live from Manchester, and LuckyMe’s Rave At The Poetry Club.

Legowelt Live. A bootleg recording of Legowelt‘s live performance of his ‘professional ambient’ album Occult Orientated Crime at the FOAM Amsterdam Museum of Photography last month. “Lots of unreleased stuff that will be released later this year and some Occult classics too!” wrote Legowelt about the performance, and you can get some of the tracks from it via his Bandcamp page. Scuba’s Essential Mix. “This mix is a summation of the kind of sets I’ve most enjoyed playing recently. End of the night slots where I’ve got a lot of space to play around, from a peak time starting point to an almost after hours kind of finish. There’s a point around half way through mix where it’s almost as if the sun is rising and after that point all bets are off, in the same way it happens in real life where you feel like there’s total freedom to play whatever you like. Those are the kind of moments I love as a DJ and this mix captures a bit of that.” Scuba describes his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. Stream it here.

Out of Office Special with Andrew Weatherall & Krysko. “I’ve used a whole load of emotional blackmail and some friendly cajoling on Mr Weatherall, and he kindly agreed I could put out this mix of myself and him recorded live at the Warehouse Project 05/12. I kicked off the proceedings then Andrew followed for 3 hours. For tonights show, it’s me for the first 45 min then Andrew for the remaining…” Broadcast on KMAH Radio from the back streets of Leeds. LuckyMe Rave At The Poetry Club. Last weekend, in a tiny Glasgow basement, old friends Hudson Mohawke, Rustie, Jackmaster – together with LuckyMe stalwarts Shaun and Eclair Fifi and DJs Cloudo and Mayhem – relived their shared teenage memories of the 90s, raving to trance and happy hardcore, evoking those original underage raves, and celebrating the instant rush of the very purest of dance music in this perfectly formed B2B set. Marquis Hawkes FACT Mix. A British ex pat in Berlin, Marquis Hawkes made his debut in 2012 by releasing a trio of Chicago house-influenced EPs on Glasgow’s Dixon Avenue Basement Jams label, and went on to deliver records for European labels Clone Jack for Daze, Creme Organization, and Houndstooth. This week, Hawkes’ FACT Mix draws from two decades of buying and making dance records. Stream and download above.
