As resident at Marco Carola’s Music On nights at Amnesia, Joseph Capriati is at the helm of this summer’s techno invasion of the White Isle. Here the Italian picks his all time favourites, revealing a surprising love of cheesy disco.

What’s the first record you ever bought?

It’s kind of hard to remember but I am pretty sure it was Eddie Amador – ‘House Music’ which was on Deep Dish’s Yoshitoshi label.

Your favourite ever record?

This is an almost impossible question but if I have to pick out one track then I would say it would be Oxia – ‘Domino’.

The guaranteed floor-filler?

It would have to be Josh Wink’s remix of Lil Louis’s ‘How’s Your Evening So Far’. This is such a classic that everyone can dance to!

The guilty pleasure?

My guiltiest pleasure is ‘Disco Circus’ by Martin Circus. It’s an awesome but kinda cheesy disco track from the 70’s.

The last track of the night?

One track that I’ve found myself playing as my last track a lot is Phil Kieran’s remix of ‘Moerderous’ by Nitzer Ebb. It has that perfect atmosphere to end an evening – or morning! – of dancing.
