In hindsight, an important skill I wish I had earlier in my life would be the ability to play an instrument. I can’t believe how much I’ve accomplished without any formal music training. It’s all been by ear.

It’s amazing how one note in a chord can change the whole vibe of a track.

Sometimes I watch a real musician play their instrument and to me it looks like magic. It’s amazing how one note in a chord can change the whole vibe of a track. I can make out most chords to do what I have to do but I always have that doubt of whether they’re musically correct or not. At the end of the day it all works out, but I wish I had that same confidence in my music as I do in programming my drums.

  • Cool!

Can definitely recognise some of these.

My big regret? Not having more confidence in what I was doing earlier and thinking that more kit would instil that confidence.

  • I´d wish Dan Curtin stayed on his initial path. Most of his earlier stuff is amazing.

  • I dig this. Attack you guys are absolutely killing it with these articles. I feel that this collective really aims to please the serious artists out here and not just cater to the business aspect. Yes, electronic music is getting much bigger but those of us that take it seriously still need an outlet and a space like this to gather information but also share ideas. Great stuff!
